A bit blousy.

I apologise that it has been so long since my last blog. Time has whizzed by so quickly I can hardly believe that we are now mid October! I will be writing about Christmas outfits soon! No, lets not go there just yet. Let's at least wait until after half term!

So I wanted to bring your attention to the beautiful feminine blouse. Not a shirt, but a blouse. What we are seeing in the shops just now have frills, and bows, and interesting cuffs. The more feminine, the better. You can wear a blouse to dress up a pair of jeans or to be extra smart with a pair of tailored trousers, or also with a skirt.

Lets start off, with good old M&S, which often has some real gems.

Long sleeve satin ruffle blouse, £25

This is also available in blush, khaki and black

So, perfect whatever your colour dominant.

This one is interesting with the tie at the back and the contrasting cuffs.

Scarf patch printed blouse, M&S , £39.50

Warehouse has had a bit of revamp recently and has some interesting pieces.

This is the V neck Satin Cuff Top, £35. I really love the cuffs but avoid if you don't want to draw attention to your hips, or if you don't want your cuffs dangling in your dinner!

Or this..

Diamante Button Sleeve Top, £39.

Again, I love the sleeve detail. And the colour is very "in" this season.

Also available in black...

If you like a floral pattern, this is beautiful silk blouse with a tie at the neck.

Wild Meadow Silk Blouse, £79

The colours are lovely and would look great with navy or black jeans

This pattern also comes in a more classic style of shirt.

Here is another blouse with wonderful cuffs, and also some detail on the shoulder. It is a fabulous colour! Add a few jewels at the neckline for a more finished look.

Button Shoulder top, £35 - currently on sale at £26.25

Also available in cream

and also mint...

A few more from Warehouse, the Box Pleat Blouse, £35. Beautiful detailed cuffs! Not for the large chested though. Here is the cream - good for us Lights.

Or this stunning tan colour, which would look beautiful on all you Warms!

And of course in black

Zara, of course have some great value, pretty blouses.

I really like this one, with pretty frills and great cuffs.

Frilled blouse, £25.99

Or this, which has a lovely embroidered front and beautiful sleeves

Embroidered blouse, £59.99

Or this...

Stripe top, £25.99

I really like the zip detail on the cuff.

Or of a more frilly nature,

Frilled flowing blouse, £25.99

I really like the sophistication of this next one from ASOS

Lost Ink Wide Cuff shirt, £32

It is very plain, in subtle cream colour and has the fabulous wide cuffs

Or if you are a Romantic and like florals and ruffles, this may be for you.

ASOS Blouse in Green floral, with ruffle sleeve detail, £34

Or this one, is such a soft pretty colour,

Selected Tie detail top, £65 from ASOS

From Whistles, there is this beautiful lace top. It is available in raspberry or navy. It has gorgeous sleeves and a scalloped edged hem. The shape may be more suitable for the straighter body.

Penny Crop Lace Blouse, £150

This navy and teal silk chiffon blouse with a pussy bow would look great on Deeps and is beautifully feminine with the floral pattern.

The Outnet, Iris and Ink Lilliana Pussy Bow Blouse, £125

Hunky Dory, a Danish brand has one or two pretty tops that are worth a look. They are a bit more expensive though.

The Davies Blouse, £140 comes in cream, navy or grey

Or this one with the tie detail at the back, pretty cuffs and detailed waist band

Script Printed Otis blouse, £125

I actually bought this one recently, in a mad moment of "Oh my god, I have nothing to wear"! Which of course, is nonsense, but I love it anyway!

A quick look at Selfridges reveals a few gems.

This one, by Free People ticks a couple of boxes - pretty cuffs and a tie at the neck. Such a pretty fabric too.

Modern Muse Woven Blouse, £80

and this one,

Free People, All Shook up Ruffle Blouse, £100

The Outnet is always a great place to look for discounted designer items.

I thought this was lovely and a gorgeous colour,

Roberto Cavalli, Pussy bow beaded jacquard blouse, £334, was £995!

Finally...

Oscar de La Renta, at a mere £1780 - no, I haven't got that wrong. Its very lovely, but at that price I think I prefer the M&S ones!

So girls, lets get feminine and go for the frills, the cuffs and the pussy bows. It it all too much for you then you can dress it all down with jeans and trainers and look fabulous!

Having been dragged to a spinning class this morning by my daughter, I am now going to spend the rest of the afternoon on the sofa reading my book with a cup of tea. Oh, I do like Sundays. Although it is of course half term, so perhaps lots of book reading coming up, or is that wishful thinking.

Happy shopping
