In the Pink

I thought I would spend a peaceful couple of hours today bringing you some pink ideas. I say peaceful, because in the next couple of hours the rugby will be switched on and it will be anything but peaceful! As some of you will know, I am Scottish and last weekend's rugby was very depressing. But probably this weekend the hubby will be rubbing my face in it even more as England tries, and probably will succeed, to win the grand slam. Shall I cheer them on??

Anyway, enough about rugby and onto more important matters....pink!

Pink is a fabulous colour. It is feminine, spring like and fun. There is bright pink or there is pink blush, and it is these two colours, mostly, that are dominating the shops at the moment. But which is right for you?

Well I would recommend that if you are fair, you stick with blush, and if you are dark or grey then the bright pink would work for you better. If you are a red head, you should probably steer clear totally!

So let have a look to see what is on offer.

Baukjen, has this gorgeous biker jacket in blush, £399

I have put this first, because I love it and it is definitely on my wishlist!

If this is a bit pricey, Warehouse has this faux leather jacket for £59

Baukjen also has these great boyfriend jeans, available in soft blush, £99

Anyone else tired of skinnies? Boyfriends are a great alternative

Reiss has this stunning jumpsuit, Adina £250

Or French Connection's Ruby Sheer Textured shirt, in pink opal, £65, would look great dressed down with jeans or also for a smarter evening look or for the office too.

Me & Em have lots of lovely non pink things, but this gorgeous pink jumper would be a great addition to your wardrobe.Weekend Rib Jumper in Soft Pebble, £99

Sandro, which is a bit more expensive has a bit of blush. This beautiful coat, £420, is also available in blue. This could be a really good investment piece.

Need some shoes to go with this, then look no further than Jigsaw. They have these leather trainers, £98. I wore the white ones all last summer and they are the comfiest of shoes. I would definitely recommend them.

Or if you prefer something a bit more elegant and sophisticated, what about these beautiful flats from LK Bennett, Dixie Pink Grained Leather flats, £150 Currently out of stock in my size,- drat!

So lets now move on to the brighter pink.

These M&S culottes are fabulous.

Back Pocket Cropped Culottes, £22.50

Also from M&S, this cashmere cardigan, £79

Boden is well worth a look this season. Not normally my thing, but they do have some really nice pieces.

I love these shoes, Angelica T bar, £120

Or just a simple T shirt, £20 (also available in 8 other colours)

Or if the pale blush jumpsuit was not your colour, what about this one from Warehouse?

Cross back jumpsuit, £59

Or this Mini Paisley shirt, £32, also from Warehouse

I also like this pencil skirt from J Crew, £108

Prefer just a pop of pink? What about a scarf to brighten up an outfit?

John Lewis's Becksondergaard Fine Summer Star Scarf, Rose, at £26 would work very well

Or this absolutely beautiful Aspinal scarf, £95

Finally, a quick whizz around Zara, which for me is usually a good place to pick up some inexpensive on-trend items.

V neck Choker top, £29.99

Frock coat, £69.99

So I hope you have found some inspiration from this. For me, it is the blush pink - the leather jacket if I could.

As always, if you are not sure which colour is right for you or you need any other advice, please do get in touch.

So not long until the rugby now. "Come on England! " I have to really, don't I?!

Have a great weekend.

Jo
